Clik here to view. The Miami Dolphins 2015 season has started! The first day of camp is in the books and the team is motivated and ready to take on the season head on. There was a lot of championship talk from Mr. Ross and Ryan Tannehill so expectations to do big things this year are high.
The first day of Dolphins camp gave us a clue on what is going on with some key position battles going on. The Linebackers seem to have a rotation of Misi at Middle with Jenkins and McCain on the outside, When Kelvin Sheppard got reps in the Middle Misi would go to the outside with Jenkins. Its the first day so we will probably expect to see this all of camp till they find a group that they feel comfortable with. All of them had a nice day with McCain with breaking up passes at the line of scrimmage. As of right now the starters are McCain, Misi, and Jenkins.
Moving on to the O-line, LT Branden Albert was at practice doing light drills. Albert said he is going to take it day by day when asked when he will be ready to go but its a great start. In his place at Left Tackle is Jason Fox taking reps with the first team. I thought that Ja’Wuan James would be takeing reps at LT but he was not. The guards have been rotating through out practice but its clear that they are favoring rookie Jamil Douglas but he is rotating with Dallas Thomas. Billy Turner is holding down the other guard spot. Today was not in pads so we’ll have to wait and see who the real players are once they start hitting.
The Cornerbacks opposite of Brent Grimes where struggling today. Will Davis and Jamar Taylor got beat a few times today by Tommy Streeter and Michael Preston. Rookie Bobby McCain has a nice day with 1 INT but he also dropped 2 more potential picks. This group needs to grow up fast but they have time to work on their issues.
Ryan Tannehill and the receivers had a nice day, Tannehill made a few plays to Greg Jennings but missed on two deep passes. He did stay after practice with some wideouts to work on the deep passes so its good that he’s taking it seriously. Other than that it was a solid day by RT17.
Overall, it was a solid day of work for the Dolphins, tomorrow they will be back at it and then on Saturday expect them to go full pads! I’ll keep you guys updates! Go Phins
P.S. DeVante Parker was also out there with the team rehabbing, he didn’t have a walking boot so that’s great!
