One Preseason game down, 3 more to go! The Dolphins looked great with the first team dominating when they where in but obviously depth is a little bit of a concern. The team will pick it, it was the first game under the lights and I expect the second and third unit to have a better showing this week. The Dolphins will get a boost in practices as the Carolina Panthers will join the team for a few days. It’ll be great for the Dolphins as it’ll act as an extra preseason game.
Now on to Branden Albert! The news that has been coming out of camp has been the best we have had all offseason. Albert has been working in more and being a lot more active with the team. He even lined up against Wake in 1 on 1 drills and went half speed against him for 2 reps! That’s HUGE, I have been a little skeptical about his status this whole offseason leading into camp but this is great news. Albert has also been working on blocking drills with the line and has been in most walk throughs. Look for him to increase his participation in the next 2 weeks. Albert will clean up a lot of line issues and will be a rock at the left tackle position once fully healthy. Overall, with Albert making great strides and the performance of the offensive line in the Chicago game I think that things are looking up. It’s becoming clear that our defensive line is just a complete animal, and our poor o-linemen have to face that animal every day. It’s great practice for them and it showed during the Chicago game on the opening drive.
The Dolphins are looking good people. The hype is real and I expect to see the same things this week against the Panthers during practice. Branden Albert is set to make his official return and we are one Sunday closer to the season opener!
